The Movie Review - God Tussi Great Ho

Cast- Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Sohail Khan, Anupam Kher

Producer- Afzal Khan

Director- Rumy Jaffery

Music Director- Sajid Wazid

It’s high time our Bollywood film makers should think of original concepts. We have had enough of inspired stuff!! This is my one wish after watching GodTussi Great Ho. Salman Kahan, Priyanka Chopra, Sohail Khan and amitabh Bachchan starrer, the film is a directorial debut of Rumy Jaffery.

The film started off well. The first half tells about Arjun Prajapati (Salman Khan), a struggling T.V anchor whom success has always alluded. He is in love with Alia( Priyanka Chopra) who is also a T.V anchor and working in the same channel, but Arjun has never been able to express his love for her. Luck hits him harder when Rocky (Sohail Khan) is appointed as anchor of the channel. Arjun fears that Rocky will win over Alia. Arjun gets thrown out of the channel and blames God for everything. Soon Arjun has an encounter with God Almighty (Amitabh Bachchan) and obviously like most of the hindi films he fixes the things for him.

The film was bit pacy in the first half, but the second half was quite an disappointment. The movie got really slow in the second half. There are some good comic scenes here and there by Salman and Anupam Kher, but that does not make it more than an average entertaining film.

I was expecting lot more from Salman and Sohail. The duo have given some great entertainers in the past. But, it was a complete disappointment for me as I was expecting a lot from him. There is a very average performance given by both Salman and Sohail. I thought this film more being a promotional gimmick to uplift the sinking popularity of the Salman Khan anchored “Dus ka Dum” . Priyanka had hardly anything to do in the film other than adding to the glam quotient. Amitabh Bachchan undoubtedly fits in any role. But, I personally felt that the director could have utilized the talent of all these great actors in a better way.

Talking about the songs, I feel that they are good in the first half but got boring in the second half. Dialogues are funny, cinematography is also good. But, over all the film gives a feeling as if you are watching an old D.V.D. Be it the story, sets, songs picturization, costumes, everything seems quite old.

If you are expecting an average comedy film, you can go for this movie. Overall, God Tussi Great Ho is a one time watch.
